The bad four letter word " Taxes. No one ever likes taxes, never have and never will, and why should we like taxes? Unfortunately, as much as we all hate them, they are necessary and no two people agree on how the format should be set up to be fair.
The bad four letter word " Taxes. No one ever likes taxes, never have and never will, and why should we like taxes? Unfortunately, as much as we all hate them, they are necessary and no two people agree on how the format should be set up to be fair. In normal times, the biggest concerns politicians deal with is the best way to collect the tax revenue needed from the contributors and then what the appropriate method is to fairly disburse the pool of funds. Those that own businesses will want the consumer to carry more of the tax burden as the current status of many companies is not stable to support additional taxes, and the people who still do have employment do not want the added taxes as many people have taken pay cuts plus inflation has increased, so they are not in a position to carry additional tax burdens either. For many business owners, this is an internal dilemma as they pay taxes both personally as well as corporately. Most often they would rather see individuals carry more burden because of the fact that they feel so heavily taxed as it is and after they make their payroll, employer contributions to the government, property taxes and all else that comprise of all the expenses the average business owner has to deal with on a regular basis, many business owners do not have sufficient funds left over to pay their own personal expenses. The general consensus with the public at large is that those that are business owners make the most money so they should be carrying the most debt. Most see it from the perspective that since their checks are coming from the company, the company then has lots of money, any should carry most of the expensesthose who make the most should carry most of the burden. After all is said and done and the taxes are collected, now, how will these funds be spent to best serve the taxpayers in general? Do we want to support bailouts for major corporations and banks or do we want to assist small to medium sized businesses? How about covering healthcare costs for those without insurance? Foreign aid or civil projects? Please comment on the allocation of Taxation and Government Spending: Which is more important to you?
