1.6 million tickets to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver became available and the prices range anywhere from $25 to $1100 per ticket. For the closing ceremony alone, the tickets may range anywhere from $175 to $775. This can be quite pricey, depending on the events that you attend and whether or not youre a family member of any of the athletes. Family member tickets account for 30% of the tickets at the Olympics. However, you need not only factor in the price of tickets. You also have to factor in travel, lodging, and meals to determine how much taking your family to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics will cost.

Traveling to sporting events is a way of life for many individuals. A person picks a particular sport they're interested in and they follow it religiously. The most popular of these sports include American football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and hockey. Each one of these sports consists of an event in which thousands upon thousands of people attend and millions more watch on TV. Then there is the ultimate event, which is the Olympics. The Olympics is the creme de la creme of sporting events because it consists of a myriad of sporting events that many individuals love and can even book Vancouver hotel packages and tickets to.

The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics are going to be here in no time, so it is not too soon to start thinking about where to stay while in Vancouver. If you're one of those sports travel individuals fortunate enough to acquire tickets, it is time to start thinking about your accommodations. Your goal is to stay as close as possible to the venues that will be hosting the events that you're attending. Then again, you may wish to stay elsewhere because there are other attractions in Vancouver that you want to enjoy.

UK Athletics performance director Dave Collins is hopeful Paula Radcliffe will recover from injury in time for the Olympic Games in Beijing.
The 34-year-old marathon world record holder is recovering from a stress fracture to her left thigh which threatens her participation.
But Collins said: "I think there is a progression we'd hope to see and that was laid down in the original plan.
"All the reports I am getting is that she is on schedule...
