![]() Britain's rowing crews enjoyed a successful start to the final World Cup event of the season in Poland with three boats reaching Sunday's finals. The GB men's four, racing for the first time with the line-up of Tom James, Steve Williams, Peter Reed and Andy Hodge, won their heat in Poznan. Daniel Harte and Chris Bartley advanced to the final of the lightweight men's pair after another heat win. And Anna Bebington and Elise Laverick reached the open double scull final. The decision to race the men's four, with James and Hodge back from injury, was finally taken on Thursday. Williams said: "We could have done with another week together but it wouldn't have felt right to sit at home. "I think the amount of work we have done has put us in a competitive place." Lightweight double Zac Purchase and Mark Hunter beat the reigning world champions in their heat to reach Saturday's semi-finals. The men's and women's eights and the two lightweight quadruple scull boats will also be in action on Saturday. And GB features in repechages of the men's pair, four and lightweight women's double scull and men's four as well as the final of the lightweight men's pair and the semi-final of the lightweight men's double.
